Coming back
So I played GW for a few months a while back and loved it. Unfortunately it got annoying to me at one point, but now I have the urge to come back. So instead of blindly jumping into it like last time, I decided to come to you guys for help and opinions.
I know all characters differ, I just like to read everyone's opinions on my wants. Not really sure what I want to play yet, but I do want to start a brand new character. I have all three stories, so that won't be a problem. Here's what I want/would like:
-Something that can solo well, but still be a valuable addition to a party.
-Something that doesn't need other characters to get skills for it.
-Versatile
-Non-expensive
-Easy to get gear for
-Fun to play
I know those requests in combination may be a longshot, but I figured I'd ask anyway. What do you guys think?

Monk and Ele come to mind, but so does necro and assassin.
-Something that doesn't need other characters to get skills for it.
Guess I don't understand this question.
-Versatile
See answer to the first question.
-Non-expensive
-Easy to get gear for
This is pretty much the same for all classes.
-Fun to play
Depends on what you like. I prefer casters so my primary is an ele. All can be fun, it just depends on what your doing.

For me that would be Ele.
Its my main char, has had a few good solo builds over the years. And i still enjoy playing him, and theres always call for a nuker in a group.
For elite areas ele is left out these days, RoJ seems to have taken over, but when thats eventually fixed im sure the ele will be back

Mesmers have a 55 build, are very flexible, cheap runes/weapons, and are fun. I'm not sure what you mean by non-expensive needing other characters?

To me, that fits Necromancer really, with their primary attribute, Soul Reaping they have amazing energy management which opens up a lot of possibilties from Support roles, to damage and solo farming.
You have several Character Slots and getting a character to level 20 can be done very quickly so you can always create a couple of characters and see what you prefer.

I'm guessing this means you don't want to depend on other characters to get stuff for this character. No profession requires this.
Rit/Necro/Ele mostly, though theres flexibility in everything to some extent.
Basically the same for each character.
Also the same.
Depends on what you like.
